Jesus and Paul! Who received
Support and who received Service?
Let’s read the Bible together.
No one compares with Jesus And
There is NO Pastor like Paul
“I “robbed” other churches by accepting their contributions so I could serve you at no cost.”
2 Corinthians 11:8
Paul made it clear he did not want to be a financial burden to any one. Paul received contributions and called it robbery.
But….we read in Luke 8:1-3 that Jesus received contributions
“Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.” Luke 8:3
The Bible as you know, was translated form Greek to English. You Must Know the meaning of words that are translated.
The support Paul received was the “Opsonion” Meaning support: examples will be like receiving salary, wages, money, financial compensation.
The support Jesus received was the “Diakonian” Meaning service, example will be to minister
The word Sulao Meaning to plunder
Translated from Greek to English – Rob – Plunder – Strip
Paul clearly describes Opsonion as robbery
Jesus was ministered to by Susanna and others.
Ministering is NOT robbery.
The support Jesus had was taking care of specific needs as the message moved from town to town.
No body bought Jesus a car or a Jet. This will have been robbery.
Jesus received shelter, feeding and transportation.
There is nothing wrong in supporting and serving the day to day activity of an online church.
The Free Nation does not have a church building. We don’t have a plundering kind of giving.
Many other churches “Strip” people
The plunder is the wages! Many pastors who go into ministry expect payment. While a pastor is doing the business of the church, he can have his NEEDS met.
Jesus did not live a life of luxury, but he had his needs met.
In The Free Nation Church, We do not tithe, when contributions and offerings are given they go directly to the poor
Once we have a structure we will make it transparent for all to see.
Transparency is what The Free Nation will enforce.
Needs will be met not wants.
Gifts are acceptable, but we will continue to take care of the poor among us.
