Debunking The Idea of Prolonged Dry Fasting

Debunking The Idea of Prolonged Dry Fasting

Fasting is human effort and except for pious self-denial, it achieves little else. The spirit alone is what saves through faith. So, what helps your prayer is really faith not fasting.

◄ John 6:63 ►

New Living Translation

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing.

Faith is 100 times more important than both fasting and prayer, while prayer is more important than fasting.

If you study the scriptures you will notice that the newer more reliable bible translations like NLT, NIV, etc don’t have MATTHEW 17:21, where it is said except through fasting.

The Queen James version has it along with a few others translated from less reliable manuscripts. The verse undermines the power of faith and tries to use religion and human effort from fasting to substitute it.

Here is where the more reliable manuscripts end, IN FAITH!

◄ Matthew 17:20 ►

New Living Translation

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
